Refund policy

Buy Martian Merch™ is a hybrid store featuring original designs and curated products fulfilled by U.S. and global vendor partners. Because of this hybrid model, returns and refunds are limited and subject to the following rules:


Return Window

  • Eligible items may be returned within 30 days of delivery.
  • You must contact us within 3 days of delivery to initiate a return request.
  • Once we confirm the details, the item must be postmarked no later than the 30th day after delivery.
  • Returns postmarked after the 30-day period will not be accepted.
  • The buyer is responsible for return shipping (unless the return is due to our error—see Exchanges section).

Eligibility for Returns

To qualify for a return, items must be:

  • In the same condition received (unworn/unused, with tags, in original packaging).
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase.
  • Submitted with photo evidence (and, depending on the item/vendor, video proof may also be required).

If a return label is supplied by us (for non-error returns), the cost of the label will be deducted from your refund. Buyers are encouraged to use their own carrier to avoid delays.


Damages & Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order immediately upon delivery.

  • You must contact us within 3 days of delivery if your item is damaged, defective, or is incorrect.
  • Provide clear photos (and video if requested) of the issue.
  • Once verified, we will provide next steps for replacement or refund.

Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items

The following items are final sale and not eligible for return or refund:

  • Personalized or custom products (including special orders).
  • Digital items (downloads, eBooks, NFTs, digital journals, art, etc.).
  • Adult products and personal care items (toys, beauty, hygiene).
  • Perishable goods (food, flowers, plants).
  • Hazardous materials (flammables, aerosols, gases).
  • Sale items, gift cards, and marked “Final Sale” collections.

Exchanges

We do not process direct exchanges.

  • The fastest way to receive your replacement quickly is to purchase the new item right away.
  • At the same time, return the original item (if eligible) so our Returns Department can process it without delay.
  • Once the return is inspected and confirmed, a refund (minus the restocking fee and any return shipping costs) will be issued back to your original payment method.

If the exchange is required due to an error on our part (wrong size, wrong item, or defective product):

  • The restocking fee will be waived, and
  • We will provide you with a prepaid return shipping label so you are not responsible for return shipping costs.

Refunds

  • Once an item is received, it will be inspected by our Returns Department.
  • If the return meets eligibility requirements, a refund will be issued to the original payment method.
  • All accepted returns are subject to at least a 20% restocking fee.
  • If we provided the return label (for non-error returns), shipping costs will also be deducted.
  • Refunds will not be issued for items that fail inspection (e.g., used, worn, missing tags, not in original packaging).
  • Please note: banks and card issuers may take additional time to post the refund.

Chargebacks

To maintain fairness and transparency, the following applies to all chargeback claims:

  • Banking Institution & Cardholder Details must be provided.
  • Police Report is required for any fraud-related chargeback. This must be filed within 5 days of first contact with Shopify or Buy Martian Merch™.
  • The report and supporting documentation must be emailed to BuyMartianMerch@gmail.com

Chargebacks submitted without the required proof will be forwarded to our legal team and treated as theft/fraud to the fullest extent of the law.
